The Emoria concept
Emoria consistently distinguishes between two entities: deceased persons live on as memorial pages, living relatives participate with their own account.
A deceased person in the family tree does not stand alone. They automatically receive their own memorial page – with biography, photos, memories and condolences.
Living family members never appear as anonymous placeholders. They receive an invitation, create a free Emoria account and confirm their membership themselves.
Import your existing family tree from Ancestry, MyHeritage or another program. Emoria automatically recognizes who is deceased and who is living.

Invitation system
Living persons do not automatically enter the family tree – they must be invited and confirm their membership themselves.
Set up your family tree and add family members or import a GEDCOM file.
Choose the relationship to the person you are inviting, e.g. as brother, sister or parent of a specific person.
The person receives an invitation link by email or directly as a link to share.
The person creates a free Emoria account. The connection becomes visible – both can manage it together.

Genealogy & Family Research
Emoria is more than a family tree tool: it is a platform for digital genealogy. Deceased ancestors receive memorial pages, living relatives actively join – creating a living genealogical archive that grows over time.
Whether you are just starting out or already have a GEDCOM file from another program – Emoria makes genealogy freely accessible and combines family research with genuine remembrance.
Enter birthplaces, occupations, dates and biographies. Emoria stores your genealogical research in a structured way – from the first generation to great-grandparents.
Every ancestor you document gets their own memorial page – with photo, biography and condolence book. Genealogy and remembrance in one place.
Invited relatives add memories, correct data and contribute new branches. Collaborative genealogy – free and GDPR-compliant.
Privacy & Control
Whether memorial page or user profile – Emoria gives you complete control over the visibility of your content and the participation of others.
For each memorial page, you decide individually who can view and comment on it.
Public
Anyone can access the memorial page – ideal for well-known personalities or when family is spread far apart.
Password protected
The memorial page is only accessible with a password that you share with friends and family.
By invitation only
Only explicitly invited persons can see the memorial page – maximum protection of private memories.
Every member who joins your family tree gets their own profile page – and decides themselves who can view it.
Public
Your profile page is accessible to everyone – even without an Emoria account.
Family tree members only
Only persons who are members of your family tree can view your profile.
Not public
Your profile page is not accessible to anyone. You are present as a node in the family tree, but your profile cannot be viewed.
Consent required
Living persons never appear in the family tree automatically – they must be invited and confirm themselves.
