Biography
Assia Djebar (* June 30, 1936 in Cherchell; † February 6, 2015 in 19th arrondissement of Paris) was a french Algerian writer and film director. She was 78 years old. She was married to Malek Alloula. Her education included École Normale Supérieure, Lycée Fénelon, Paris and École normale supérieure de jeunes filles. She received 7 awards, including Commandeur des Arts et des Lettres, Neustadt International Prize for Literature.
