He was 90 years old. He was married to Franca Rame. He studied at Brera Academy. His faith was Buddhism. He received 7 awards, including Nobel Prize in Literature, Sonning Prize. His cause of death was respiratory disease. He was buried at monumental cemetery of Milan.
