Derek Walcott (* January 23, 1930 in Castries; † March 17, 2017 in Cap Estate) was a saint Lucian–Trinidadian poet and playwright. He was 87 years old. He had 3 wives. His education included University of the West Indies and University of London. He received 9 awards, including Nobel Prize in Literature, Guggenheim Fellowship.
