Desmond Doss (* February 7, 1919 in Lynchburg; † March 23, 2006 in Piedmont) was an american solder, pacifist, and combat medic; recipient of the Purple Heart medal, recipient of the Medal of Honor. He was 87 years old. His faith was Seventh-day Adventist Church. He received a total of 5 awards. He was buried at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
