Biography
Edmund Hillary (* July 20, 1919 in Auckland; † January 11, 2008 in Auckland) was a new Zealand mountaineer and philanthropist. He was 88 years old. He was married to June Hillary and Louise Mary Rose. His education included Auckland Grammar School and University of Auckland. He received 6 awards, including Polar Medal, Order of Gorkha Dakshina Bahu. His cause of death was myocardial infarction. He was buried at Hauraki Gulf / Tīkapa Moana.
