George Mikan (* June 18, 1924 in Joliet; † June 1, 2005 in Scottsdale) was an american basketball player, coach, commissioner. He was 80 years old. His education included Joliet Catholic Academy, Archbishop Quigley Preparatory Seminary and DePaul University. He was awarded the NBA All-Star Game Kobe Bryant Most Valuable Player Award. His cause of death was diabetes. He was buried at Lakewood Cemetery.
