Gloria E. Anzaldúa (* September 26, 1942 in Rio Grande Valley; † May 15, 2004 in Santa Cruz) was a chicana cultural theory, feminist theory, and queer theory. She was 61 years old. Her education included Edinburg High School, University of Texas–Pan American and University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. She was awarded the American Book Awards. Her cause of death was diabetes. She was buried at Valle De La Paz Cemetery.
