Iannis Xenakis (* May 29, 1922 in Brăila; † February 4, 2001 in Paris) was a greek-French composer, architect and engineer. He was 78 years old. He was married to Françoise Xenakis. He studied at National Technical University of Athens. His faith was atheism. His awards include Kyoto Prize in Arts and Philosophy, honorary doctor of the University of Sydney and Honorary Member of the International Society for Contemporary Music.
