Ivana Trump (born 20 February 1949 in Gottwaldov, Czechoslovakia; died 14 July 2022 in New York City) was a Czech-American businesswoman, former athlete, model, author and public figure. She became widely known as the first wife of Donald Trump and as the mother of Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump and Eric Trump. Her own biography reaches further: she came from competitive sport, worked as a model, became part of 1980s New York society and built her own business and media projects after the marriage.

Childhood and sport

She was born Ivana Marie Zelníčková in Gottwaldov, now Zlín in the Czech Republic. She grew up in communist Czechoslovakia and took up skiing early. Sport opened paths outward before she later reached the United States through Canada and the fashion industry.
