Jaan Kross (* February 19, 1920 in Tallinn; † December 27, 2007 in Tallinn) was an estonian writer. He was 87 years old. He was married to Ellen Niit and Helga Kross. He studied at University of Tartu. He received 8 awards, including Herder Prize, Recipient of the Order of the National Coat of Arms, 1st Class. He was buried at Rahumäe Cemetery.
