Jack Vance (* August 28, 1916 in San Francisco; † May 26, 2013 in Oakland) was an american mystery and speculative fiction writer. He was 96 years old. He studied at University of California, Berkeley. He received 8 awards, including Nebula Award for Best Novella, Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best First Novel. His cause of death was old age.
