James Salter (* June 10, 1925 in New York City; † June 19, 2015 in Sag Harbor) was an american novelist and short-story writer. He was 90 years old. His education included United States Military Academy and Horace Mann School. His awards include PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction and PEN/Malamud Award. He was buried at Oakland Cemetery.
