Biography
Janet Akyüz Mattei (* January 2, 1943 in Bodrum; † March 22, 2004 in Boston) was a turkish astronomer. She was 61 years old. Her education included University of Virginia, Brandeis University and Ege University. Her awards include George Van Biesbroeck Prize and Jackson-Gwilt Medal. Her cause of death was leukemia. She was buried at Mount Auburn Cemetery.
