Janis Joplin (* January 19, 1943 in Port Arthur; † October 4, 1970 in Los Angeles) was an american singer. She was 27 years old. Her education included University of Texas at Austin, Lamar University, Memorial High School, Kenmore West Senior High School and Thomas Jefferson High School. Her awards include Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and star on Hollywood Walk of Fame. Her cause of death was opioid overdose. She was buried at Pacific Ocean.
