Biography
Jiří Menzel (* February 23, 1938 in Prague; † September 5, 2020 in Prague) was a czech film director, actor, director, scriptwriter, writer and university educator. He was 82 years old. He was married to Olga Menzelová. His education included Academy of Performing Arts and Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. He received 6 awards, including Czech Medal of Merit, Artis Bohemiae Amicis Medal. His cause of death was COVID-19. He was buried at Vyšehrad cemetery.
