Biography
João Gilberto (* June 10, 1931 in Juazeiro; † July 6, 2019 in Rio de Janeiro) was a brazilian musician, pioneer of bossa nova. He was 88 years old. He was married to Astrud Gilberto and Miúcha. He received 6 awards, including Order of Cultural Merit (Brazil), honorary doctorate from Columbia University. He was buried at Niterói.
