Biography
John Backus (* December 3, 1924 in Philadelphia; † March 17, 2007 in Ashland) was an american computer scientist. He was 82 years old. His education included Columbia University, University of Virginia and The Hill School. He received 10 awards, including IBM Fellow, Turing Award. He was buried at San Francisco Columbarium.
