Jonas Mekas (* December 24, 1922 in Biržai; † January 23, 2019 in Brooklyn) was a lithuanian filmmaker. He was 96 years old. He studied at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. He received 7 awards, including Guggenheim Fellowship, Lithuanian National Prize.
