Laurent-Désiré Kabila (* November 27, 1939 in Moba; † January 16, 2001 in Kinshasa) was a former President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He was 61 years old. He was married to Sifa Mahanya. He had at least 1 child (1 daughter). His education included University of Dar es Salaam, University of Belgrade and University of Belgrade Faculty of Philosophy. His faith was Anglicanism. He was awarded the National Order of the Leopard. His cause of death was gunshot wound.
