Biography
Lennart Meri (* March 29, 1929 in Tallinn; † March 14, 2006 in Tallinn) was an estonian writer, filmmaker and politician; President of Estonia in 1992–2001. He was 76 years old. He was married to Helle Meri and Regina Meri. He had 3 children. His education included University of Tartu, Lycée Janson-de-Sailly and Tallinn Nõmme Upper Secondary School. He received 8 awards, including Four Freedoms Award – Freedom of Speech, Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the Falcon. His cause of death was brain cancer. He was buried at Metsakalmistu.
