Leyla Gencer (* October 10, 1928 in Istanbul; † May 10, 2008 in Milan) was a turkish opera singer. She was 79 years old. She studied at Liceo Italiano. Her awards include State Artist and honorary doctor of Istanbul University. Her cause of death was disease.
