Biography
Margaret Mahy (* March 21, 1936 in Whakatāne; † July 23, 2012 in Christchurch) was a new Zealand children's writer. She was 76 years old. Her education included University of Canterbury, University of Auckland and Whakatāne High School. She received 8 awards, including Hans Christian Andersen Award, Carnegie Medal.
