Mieczysław Rakowski (* December 1, 1926 in Kowalewko-Folwark; † November 8, 2008 in Warsaw) was a former First Secretary of the Polish United Workers' Party. He was 81 years old. He was married to Wanda Wiłkomirska and Elżbieta Kępińska. He studied at Institute of Social Sciences at the Central Committee of the Polish United Workers' Party. He received 5 awards, including Commander with Star of the Order of Polonia Restituta, Work Flag Order, 1st class. His cause of death was cancer. He was buried at Powązki Military Cemetery.
