Milan Rúfus (* December 10, 1928 in Závažná Poruba; † January 11, 2009 in Bratislava) was a slovak poet, translator and writer. He was 80 years old. He studied at Comenius University. He was awarded the Order of Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, class III.
