Nina Simone (* February 21, 1933 in Tryon; † April 21, 2003 in Carry-le-Rouet) was an american singer, songwriter and pianist and civil rights activist. She was 70 years old. She was married to Andy Stroud. Her education included Juilliard School and Allen School. Her awards include Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and honorary doctorate. Her cause of death was breast cancer.
