Odetta (* December 31, 1930 in Birmingham; † December 2, 2008 in New York City) was an american singer. She was 77 years old. Her education included Los Angeles City College and Belmont High School. Her awards include National Medal of Arts, War Resisters League Peace Award and Library of Congress Living Legend. She was buried at Harlem Meer.
