Ralph Stanley (* February 25, 1927 in McClure; † June 23, 2016 in Coeburn) was an american singer and banjo player. He was 89 years old. He was married to Peggy Stanley and Jimmi Stanley. He had 3 children. He studied at Lincoln Memorial University. He received 4 awards, including National Medal of Arts, Library of Congress Living Legend. His cause of death was skin cancer. He was buried at Hills of Home Cemetery.
