Ray Dolby (* January 18, 1933 in Portland; † September 12, 2013 in San Francisco) was an american engineer and inventor of the Dolby noise reduction system. He was 80 years old. He was married to Dagmar Dolby. He had 2 children. His education included San José State University, Sequoia High School, Stanford University and Pembroke College. He received 9 awards, including National Medal of Technology and Innovation, Emmy Award. His cause of death was leukemia.
