Sam Manekshaw (* April 3, 1914 in Amritsar; † June 27, 2008 in Wellington) was a first Field marshal of the Indian Army. He was 94 years old. His education included Sherwood College, Indian Military Academy, Command and Staff College and Royal College of Defence Studies. His faith was Zoroastrianism. He received 5 awards, including Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan. His cause of death was pneumonia.
