Sarah Kirsch (* April 16, 1935 in Limlingerode; † May 5, 2013 in Heide) was a german poet. She was 78 years old. She was married to Rainer Kirsch. Her education included Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, German Institute for Literature and Leipzig University. She received 10 awards, including Georg Büchner Prize, Mainz resident writer.
