He studied at Faculty of Philology of the State University of Kyiv. He received 4 awards, including All-Union competition for the best book for children (Всесоюзном конкурсе на лучшую книгу для детей), Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, 5th class. He was buried at Baikove Cemetery.
