Biography
Yaşar Kemal (* October 6, 1923 in Gökçedam; † February 28, 2015 in Istanbul) was a kurdish writer and human rights activist. He was 91 years old. He was married to Tilda Kemal. He received 9 awards, including Prix mondial Cino Del Duca, honorary doctor of the University of Strasbourg-II. His cause of death was multiple organ dysfunction syndrome. He was buried at Zincirlikuyu Cemetery.
