Alain Besançon (* 25. April 1932 in 6th arrondissement of Paris; † 8. July 2023 in 7th arrondissement of Paris) was a french historian and teacher. He was 91 years old. His education included Sciences Po, Collège Stanislas de Paris, Paris-Sorbonne University - Paris IV and École pratique des hautes études. He received 6 awards, including Officer of the Legion of Honour, Commander of the French Order of Academic Palms. He was buried at Montparnasse Cemetery.
