Biography
Alain Touraine (* August 3, 1925 in Hermanville-sur-Mer; † June 9, 2023 in 13th arrondissement of Paris) was a french sociologist. He was 97 years old. He was married to Simonetta Tabboni. His education included École Normale Supérieure, Lycée Louis-le-Grand, School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences and University of Paris. He received 8 awards, including Princess of Asturias Award for Communications and Humanities, honorary doctor of the Open University of Catalonia. He was buried at Montparnasse Cemetery.
