Alberta Gay (* 1. January 1913 in Rocky Mount; † 9. May 1987 in Los Angeles) was a mother of American recording artist Marvin Gaye. She was 74 years old. She was married to Marvin Gay senior. She had at least 2 children (2 sons). Her cause of death was bone cancer. She was buried at Rose Hills Memorial Park.
