Biography of Alexander Petrowitsch Meschirow

Alexander Petrowitsch Meschirow (* 26. September 1923 in Moscow; † 22. May 2009 in New York City) was a sowjetischer Dichter und Übersetzer. He was 85 years old. His education included Maxim Gorky Literature Institute and Moscow State School 57. He worked at Maxim Gorky Literature Institute. He received 6 awards, including USSR State Prize, Medal "For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945". He was buried at Peredelkino Cemetery.
