He was married to Françoise Villette and Christine Buci-Glucksmann. His education included École normale supérieure de lettres et sciences humaines and lycée du Parc. His awards include Officer of the Legion of Honour and Order of the Cross of Terra Mariana, 3rd Class. His cause of death was cancer.
