Biography
Andrzej Wajda (* March 6, 1926 in Suwałki; † October 9, 2016 in Warsaw) was a polish film director. He was 90 years old. He had 4 wives. His education included Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow and National Film School in Łódź. He received 7 awards, including Commandeur des Arts et des Lettres, Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. His cause of death was respiratory failure. He was buried at Salwator Cemetery.
