Biography of Anna Seghers

Anna Seghers (* 19. November 1900 in Mainz; † 1. June 1983 in East Berlin) was a deutsche Schriftstellerin. She was 82 years old. She was married to Johann Lorenz Schmidt. She had at least 2 children (1 son and 1 daughter). Her education included Heidelberg University and University of Cologne. She received 10 awards, including honorary citizen of Berlin, Order of Karl Marx. She was buried at Dorotheenstadt Cemetery.
