Biography of Arnolds Spekke

Arnolds Spekke (* 14. June 1887 in Vecumnieki Parish; † 27. July 1972 in Washington, D.C.) was a latvian philologist, historian, diplomat. He was 85 years old. He had at least 1 child (1 son). His education included Jelgava Real school, Polytechnical Institute Riga, Moscow State University, Faculty of Law, Philological Faculty of Moscow State University, Lazarev Institute of Oriental Languages and Lomonosov Moscow State University. He worked at Moscow Archaeological Institute, Jelgava Real school, Liepājas 1. ģimnāzija, Higher School of Latvia, Riga State Gymnasium No.1 and University of Latvia. He received 4 awards, including Knight of the Order of Polonia Restituta, Kultūras fonda prēmija. He was buried at Vecumnieki cemetery.
