Biography
Benoit Mandelbrot (* November 20, 1924 in Warsaw; † October 14, 2010 in Cambridge) was a polish-born, French and American mathematician. He was 85 years old. He was married to Aliette Kagan. His education included lycée du Parc, École polytechnique, California Institute of Technology and University of Paris. He received 9 awards, including IBM Fellow, William Procter Prize for Scientific Achievement. His cause of death was pancreatic cancer. He was buried at Grove Street Cemetery.
