Bernard Lown (* 7. June 1921 in Utena; † 16. February 2021 in Chestnut Hill) was an american cardiologist, developer of the DC defibrillator and the cardioverter. He was 99 years old. His education included University of Maine and Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. His awards include Gandhi Peace Award, honorary doctor of the Autonomous University of Barcelona and Commander of the Order of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Gediminas.
