Biography
Cathleen Synge Morawetz (* May 5, 1923 in Toronto; † August 8, 2017 in Greenwich Village) was a canadian mathematician. She was 94 years old. She was married to Herbert Morawetz. She had 3 children. Her education included University of Toronto, New York University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Courant Institute School of Mathematics, Computing, and Data Science. She received 10 awards, including Guggenheim Fellowship, National Medal of Science.
