Daniil Granin (* January 1, 1919 in Volsk; † July 4, 2017 in Saint Petersburg) was a russia-Soviet writer and historian. He was 98 years old. His education included Vladimir Ulyanov (Lenin) LETI Saint Petersburg State Electrotechnical University and Peter the Great Saint Petersburg State Polytechnical University. His awards include Officer's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, Order "For Merit to the Fatherland", 3rd class and Alexander Men Prize. His cause of death was pneumonia. He was buried at Cemetery in Komarovo.
