Biography of Danilo Kiš

Danilo Kiš (* 22. February 1935 in Subotica; † 15. October 1989 in 10ᵗʰ arrondissement of Paris) was a jugoslawischer Schriftsteller. He was 54 years old. He was married to Mirjana Miočinović. He studied at University of Belgrade Faculty of Philology. He worked at University of Lille and University of Strasbourg. He received 4 awards, including NIN Prize, Andrić prize. His cause of death was lung cancer. He was buried at Alley of Distinguished Citizens.
