Biography of Edward Yang

Edward Yang (* 6. November 1947 in Shanghai; † 29. June 2007 in Los Angeles) was a taiwanese film director and screenwriter. He was 59 years old. He was married to Tsai Chin and Kaili Peng. He had 1 child. His education included University of Florida, University of Southern California, Florida State University and Taipei Municipal Chien Kuo High School. His awards include Sutherland Trophy, Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award for Best Foreign Language Film and Cannes Best Director Award. His cause of death was colorectal cancer. He was buried at Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery.
