Biography of Edwin James George Pitman

Edwin James George Pitman (* 29. October 1897 in Kensington; † 21. July 1993 in Kingston) was an australischer Mathematiker. He was 95 years old. His education included University of Melbourne, South Melbourne College and London School of Economics and Political Science. He worked at University of Tasmania, First Australian Imperial Force, University of Melbourne and University of Canterbury. His awards include Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science, Pitman Medal and Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics. He was buried at Kingston Lawn Cemetery.
