Elwyn Ralph Berlekamp (* September 6, 1940 in Dover; † April 9, 2019 in Piedmont) was an american mathematician. He was 78 years old. He had 3 children. He studied at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He received 5 awards, including IEEE Richard W. Hamming Medal, Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. His cause of death was pulmonary fibrosis.
