Biography
Fang Lizhi (* February 12, 1936 in Beijing; † April 6, 2012 in Tucson) was a professor of astrophysics; civil rights activist and dissident. He was 76 years old. He was married to Li Shuxian. His education included Peking University and University of Science and Technology of China. His awards include Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Award and Dwight Nicholson Medal for Outreach. His cause of death was disease. He was buried at East Lawn Palms Cemetery and Mortuary.
